Here are some success stories from candidates who simply got positive results by putting simple techniques into action:

Subject: Finally

Five years in the making...  3 years as a vol.  2 years in school getting certs and over a year of interviewing. I finally landed the job.  Even better, it is with my top choice, City of Charleston SC.  They rejected me last year but called me a few months ago to let me know they were hiring again.  When I first started interviewing I was so off the mark. I never got a second look.  Since i was turned onto your program I made it through to the final round every time.  After your program i immediately got hired with a small lack luster department but this was part of my path to bigger things.  It gave me the experience and confidence i needed to go after the big cities.  I reviewed your program before every interview and continued to make it far in the process.  In the past 6 months I have made it onto Gastonia NC, Miami Beach, and Jacksonville, FL's hiring list, all on my first application.  But, better than anything i was finally picked up by my top choice, Charleston.  I have driven all over the east coast.  I have worked my ass off.  But, I credit you more than anyone else for helping me get hired.  Everything changed when i got your program.   I wanted to thank you for all the time you spent responding to my emails, answering my every question.  I could really tell this wasnt just a money making buisness to you. It was obvious you genuinely care about helping us get hired.  This was even more obvious a year ago when you called me out of the blue the night before my first Charleston interview and gave me a mini mock interview.  Again, thank you so much for everything.  This is the happiest I have been in a long time.  This is a dream come true.  I got my badge!!!! Sincerely, Adam

Capt. Bob,

I just wanted to say thanks for your help.  I ordered your gold program a couple of months ago and it made a big difference in my interviewing techniques.  I have been testing for about 3 years and have been working as a volunteer firefighter for about a year and a half.  After I listened to your program I realized all of the mistakes that I had been making.  Answers that I thought had been solid were really some of the worst I could have been giving.  I just had my first interview after I had prepared with your program and guess what? I GOT THE JOB!!!!  Placed in the top 5 when they were hiring about 20.  Needless to say I am very excited and can't thank you enough for putting together this program.  It was well worth every penny to be living the dream!

Thanks again, Rob

"Before I received the program I thought that I was dialed in and it was just a matter of time before somebody would hire me. After a few unsuccessful interviews I was introduced to Capt. Bob's program and realized that I was using the wrong approach. The DVD's and coaching helped me to prepare for my next upcoming interview. I went into that interview with a confidence that I never had before. Sure enough I passed the interview and Capt. Bob was there every step of the way after that to provide me with the information to prepare for the background, polygraph, medical and psychological exam. Thanks to Capt. Bob's program I was hired by a premier department and am starting academy in a few weeks. I can't thank him enough for everything he has done to help me prepare."  Nick

A very excited candidate called with a great story recently on a Friday.  At age 23 Steve decided he really wanted to be a firefighter.  He had no education or experience.  Where to start?  A couple of firefighters told him to be able to test at many agencies he need to first become an EMT.

While taking his EMT one of the instructors told him about our Gold Package Program http://www.eatstress.com/goldpackage.htm Steve got the program and two months later he had got his EMT cert and signed up for his first test.  He made it through the written, agility and was invited to his first oral board.  Two weeks later he was invited back to his first chiefs oral.  Next thing called that he’s an alternate for those being considered for the next academy.  One of those going for his medical was DQ’d because of lung capacity.

On Monday, Steve gets a call asking if he can complete his psych and medical that week?  Oh, yea, he can.  On that Friday when Steve called me he just got off the phone from HR asking him if he could start the academy the next Monday.  WOW!  His wife got a job offer the same day in the same city.  Double WOW!

Shhhh.  Don’t tell Steve it’s not possible to get hired with just an EMT.  He’s busy in the academy working hard towards badge pinning graduation day.

So how do you get through the maze?  Here are 3 more new firefighters that got their badges the first time out:

Dear Capt Bob, I was referred to you by one of my friends approximately 4 months ago to help me with my oral boards.  I recently took my first oral board for a department in Fresno County and got hired!!!!!  There is absolutely no way I could have done this without your program. This is the department I was looking to get hired at.  Thanks for all your help.  John

Captain Rob, I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for the help. I just got the phone call yesterday from the City of Las Vegas Fire Dept. I start my dream job in 3 weeks. This was the first test that I had ever taken and wouldn't have made it had it not been for the private coaching that I had with you. I am only 23 years old and had no fire or ems experience to pad my resume with, but the tools that you gave me did the trick. For those that are a little skeptical of doing the coaching, I know that it made all the difference. The price to pay for the coaching was the best investment that I have ever made!!! Just do it! Thanks again Capt. Rob. You can now add me to your stats!

Thank you, Sean

Capt. Bob,

This was my FIRST ORAL BOARD.

IT HAPPENED!!! I got the phone call last week that told me congratulations and to see if I could start the next academy next week. I nearly lost my voice after I hung up with all the yelling I did of pure excitement. I bought your gold package and treated it like a bible. I listened to the c.d.'s everyday, read the book cover to cover, and got the all-important tape recorder and I have to say if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be starting my dream job. This was my fourth test and FIRST ORAL BOARD. People couldn't believe I got hired so fast. I just used my life experience like you said and showed them that I could already do the job. What you do for guys like me is amazing every time I had a question I e-mailed you and got a reply fast. I hope that one day we meet in person so I can shake your hand and say thank you.

Forever in your debt, Morgan Schenck

Life is Timing

I would like to take a minute to thank Captain Bob for the help that he has given me. I knew nothing about oral boards after taking 5 tests.  I called him for help, and he was more than helpful. He took the time to talk to me, and help me. I talked with him two weeks before my oral interview.  He overnighted me the program DVD's/CD's. I watched them, and practiced them like he said, and two weeks later here I am. I not only got my badge, but I came in #1 overall in the process. When I let him know, I don’t know who was more excited, him or myself haha.

The fact of the matter is that THIS PROGARM WORKS! The program just showed me the best way to present myself and my information, and with the required practice, everything came out awesome.

If you’re looking for a badge, and are having trouble with your public speaking skills/oral board, you need to invest in this program, esp with a payment plan, its very affordable. This made my dream come true. Thank you so much again. Mike

I leave NJ on the 9th for SC; start the academy on the 15th! Mike

Reply: Welcome to the Fire Service Mike.

Mike is 23 and an EMT!  One happy guy.  Me too!  I was screaming.

This happens more than you know.

Check out how this went down for Mike here

Dear Captain Rob,

I start rookie school in 3 weeks - thanks to you!!

I'm writing to let you know that I made it!  I called and did the private coaching with you last October.  I had just finished my Chief's Boards for two large departments in the northwest. I called pretty early in the testing process because I figured it is far too competitive to wait and put things off.

I can't stress how much your private coaching helped me.  The coaching session really got me squared away and showed me how to avoid some of the answers that get you DQ'd.  I probably played and replayed that tape 500 times!  I can't stress how important it is for people going through the process to get as much coaching as possible.  If you aren't willing to make the investment on books/coaching, then I say you aren't serious about becoming a firefighter - period end of story.

I proved that fact with one agencies test.  I got my coaching in October and didn't even have my oral boards until late April.  I told all my friends about the coaching and really pushed them to get it.  None of them wanted to.  I got excuses like "too much money" or "I get coached at the stations" etc.  Well I am one of the 15 out of 2500 candidates that got hired - none of my friends got selected.   I later ran into one of the Captains from my board at the gym, and he told me that I simply "rocked" the boards and just blew them away.  If you hadn't gotten your coaching I know that wouldn't have been the case.

To make things better, right after my first oral board, the other Fire Department called me for a second Chiefs board, and I must have done well, because I received job offers from both departments with a few days of each other.  I’ve now completed everything and received my final offers from both - no more hoops to jump through - I'm done!!!   The only problem is now I have to decide between two outstanding departments here in the valley!!

I also want to comment on the psych test.  I had to take one for each department.  Well all I know is that I went into the test and followed your advice.  I tried to answer the questions as honestly as I could, while presenting myself as a very positive social person.  Some of the "experts" out there say that you should be brutally honest on the test.  Well 3 good guys I know did just that, and they did not pass either test.  We lost 7 out of 25 guys on one test!  In all honesty I might not have passed either if I hadn't followed your advice.  I feel that is a very dangerous test, and some of the advice these people are giving out is costing great candidates a job.  I wanted to let you know that your advice worked, and I owe you much thanks!

Again, with your help and coaching, I was able to get hired by what are arguably the two best fire departments here in the northwest.  Both rookie schools start this month. Now I just have to make up my mind today about which one I'm going with.

Your program rocks and gets people hired and I highly recommend it.

 Sincerely, Drew

Capt. Bob - I wanted to let you know how you've helped me in acquiring an INCREDIBLE job!  Long story short - I finished college, got a job using my degree, but was miserable in my line of work.  Through various avenues I started getting involved in, and learning about the fire service.  I loved what I was learning, so I took a written test with thousands of my closest friends. :)  I passed the written and knew I had better find out about how to perform well on the oral interview.  I ordered your video and cd and I wore the batteries out on a tape recorder, going over question after question out loud for several months.  You were right, the tape recorder revealed so much of what I needed to work on in my interviewing skills.  I passed the oral, agility, academy, and probation.  I am now LOVING my job - and that crosses over into every area of my life - my marriage, my friends, my church...  I know that my story is the exception, and for that I am VERY thankful.

I do not usually tell others that this was my FIRST written test that I took because I know that so many people are taking test after test after test.  But I also know that this process can sometimes be shortened if they seek the help of experts like yourself!  So I say THANK YOU for your wisdom and knowledge!  I believe it was an integral part of helping me get the badge. Sincerely, Paul

This is the real McCoy: I got my Badge the FIRST Try!

Captain Bob: Just wanted to say I purchased your package a year ago and a lot of the information was very useful and gave me insight as to what to expect throughout the hire process. I'm currently in Fire Academy through a local community college and about to graduate in May. I tested 6 months ago for a local large department and made it all the way through the Chiefs oral because I was prepared for each step in the process due to the information I learned in your package. On last Friday I received a letter in the mail notifying me I was HIRED and start on this month. I got my Badge the FIRST Try!

Thanks Capt. Bob, could not have it with out your assistance! McCoy

Hello Capt. Bob,, I was tied for number 1

I have all your products, talked to you on the phone many times, and got married to a tape recorder. I have the pleasure of telling you that I finally made it. Not only did I make it I got picked up by a local agency. I just got the call last night that I will be starting the academy soon. Its an amazing feeling. Just a little extra, I was tied for number 1. I would like to invite you to the badge pinning ceremony. It will be in either July or August. I will keep you posted. Thanks for all your help. I know without you I would have given up on the chasing the dream as I tested for 7 years. Thank you so much Capt. Bob  Your Friend, Michael Moore

Captain Rob,

You have helped me change my family's life forever.

I GOT THE CALL YESTERDAY! Captain ROB, my name is Shaw. You and I did some private coaching approximately 3-4 months ago for a position with a big County Fire Department. After our meeting I went home and practiced for the remaining week I had until my oral interview. Every day I watched our video over and over and came up a format for the interview questions using your suggestions, then practiced them with a tape recorder and in front of a mirror. I went into that interview with CONFIDENCE that I didn't know I ever had. I walked out of the interview and I was doing cartwheels in the parking lot. I knew in my heart that I smoked that interview, a feeling I have never had before. I received a letter a few weeks later stating that I was in the top 12. I went on to the background, psych tests, and medical exams. Yesterday I got a call from Human Resources saying I was offered a position and the academy starts in two weeks. I HIT THE LOTTO! Thank you so much for your help. You have helped me change my family's life forever.

Shawn Jordan and family

Got the Call:

Here's what I feel helped me the most.

1-Do something every day (every day) to move forward in the process. Whether it is workout, study, volunteer, practice, talk to experts, just do something.

2-Suck it up and spend the money to buy Capt. Bob's program.

3-Start early on practicing for your orals. Use the tape recorder even if you think you don't need it. (I was sure I didn't need it until I used it.)

4-Keep believing and don't lose the faith.

5- Go to the gym again and again, and again....

I know the hard part is to come with both the academy and probation.
Thanks again, GBWW

My name is Dan. I have been testing for 8 years, for the position of firefighter, with many large municipal Fire Depts.  I thought I was acing the interview process when in fact I was bombing it.

When I heard about Captain Bob I, was not a firm believer. I decided to get his book & DVD on how to do better on oral interviews, one week before my next oral.  It was the best investment I had ever made.  It made me more confident in my self.  With Captain Bob's helpful advice it made a world of a difference in how I could present & express my self in ways I've never thought possible.  I finally realized I was wrong all these years.  Boy was I WRONG!!! , SO WRONG!!!  What I learned was this.  What to say,  what not say,  how to say it,  when to say it, basically  the BIG W's who, what, where, when, why.

Get the help we all need.  Find the real you. I know I did.  Now I can proudly say I've made it, I got the badge.  Go get the badge, nothing else matters till you do.  You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain, believe me.  I've been very busy having the time of my life, as a probationary Firefighter.  It's truly a blessing. Thank you Captain Bob, I can't thank you enough.  DAN THE MAN

Hello Capt.

My name is Casey Johnson.  I recently became a PROUD employee of The Anchorage Fire Department.  Tomorrow night, my recruit class of 24 will graduate.  In the class is a group of guys with widely varying backgrounds, many of which have nothing to do with Fire Departments at all.  This goes to prove that fire departments aren't always looking for people with experience, but are more likely looking for individuals with great Firefighter characteristics.  I have spent the last 6 years preparing for this career.  That included volunteering at a small town FD, working for the Univ. Fire Department in Fairbanks, going to school for an AAS in Municipal Fire Control and Paramedic School.

While I was going to school, many of my friends with similar resumes were testing for Fire Departments, but not passing the oral board or the psych test.  After seeing many Awesome Firefighters have troubles with interviewing, it became blatantly apparent that the best resume in the world would not get me a job, but the best interview skills most definitely would.  I soon came to learn of the "Captain Bob" program, and when it was time to finally apply for my dream job, I took your program, and it's advise to heart.  Now here I am, living the dream.  Thank You Very Much.

Casey Johnson Anchorage Fire Department Firefighter/EMT

Hope is the Anchor to the Soul

Rick had been testing for a while without much luck.  Then, a firefighter took him aside and directed him to out web site.  He immediately saw why he wasn’t succeeding.

Rick started testing with his big city dream department 19 months ago with 4500 other candidates.  Things finally made it to the chiefs oral.  He had all his ducks in a row.  He heard after his oral that one of the panel members said if all the candidates today could be like Rick, we’re going to have a great day.  The job offer came conditional on the medical and psych.

The results for the final psych test were due out the following Monday and calls would be made.  Monday came and went.  Just hold tight and don’t panic. When he finally called he found out the HR gal had gone on a weeks vacation and the envelope was sitting on her desk.  Several days passed after her return. Nothing.   Everything imaginable went through Rick’s head. Rick and his wife experienced every symptom of stress.

Out of the blue on the Thursday before Christmas the phone rings.  He got the call! All fears disappeared followed by screams and shouting.  Rick was number one by a bunch of points.

Rick is five foot two inches and weighs 118 pounds!

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Dear Capt. Bob,

I got my badge the first time out!

As I prepared myself for the oral board, I wanted to make sure that I did everything I could to be ready. How could I have looked myself, or my family, in the eyes if I had not prepared properly for the oral interview?  Everything that you said happened.  The questions, the panel, the format, and the Gold Nuggets happened just as the Gold Package laid out for me.

The department was preparing to hire six new candidates but they were not sure when they would be hired due to the construction of a new station.  I took the oral in the morning and the Chief called my home that evening.  The Chief said after the interviews were over, he had gone to the city manager and asked for permission to hire one candidate as soon as possible.  The candidate that was number 1 on the list and the one that he wanted to hire was me.

Some people might say, that I got lucky. I say "luck is when preparation meets opportunity" (gold nugget)  Thanks for the Badge, Greg Boyd

Captain Bob,

I just wanted to let you know that you can add another person to your list
of people who got "the call." After three years of trying to get out of
teaching/coaching, I finally got the call to start in less than two weeks in
Portland, Oregon. I am an older candidate (33 in two days) and thought that
I knew how to interview when I made it to the chiefs oral after my first
fire test three years ago. I thought that my military background, degree
from a great school, All-Army and All-American wrestling accomplishments, and
Master's work would make me a shoo-in for the badge. I was ignorant. I was
arrogant. I was dumb. I almost got up and walked out!
When I compare my interview after your program there is an extreme
difference in quality and presentation. When I realized that my answers were
"clone" material, at best, and took your advice; I was able to analyze the
entire interview and know exactly what I needed to do for the next time. Two
years later, I rocked the whole process and gained a spot in the first of
five academies.

After my chief's oral, I knew that they wanted me and that it was only a
matter of when I would get the call. I tell everyone interested in the fire
service to get your program. Thank you for your invaluable service. Brian

Captain Bob:

I recently tested for the City of Denver. The written test was the first step in the process and over 2,100 people showed for the test. As I waited outside the building, I thought to myself, “Do I really have a chance at getting a job here. I have worked in the fire service for the past eight years (7 years as a military firefighter and one year paid in NM).”

This was going to be a challenge for myself. I received the results for the written and I passed. Come to find out 1,400 people failed that test. They took 757 people to the oral boards. I didn’t fare so well in Colorado Springs oral boards last year. I ranked something like 173 out of 250. After being in the fire service for eight years, I thought I knew everything needed to be hired.

I studied your Entry Level Program, used a tape recorder, and practiced, practiced, practiced! I found out quickly what I didn’t know. I went to the oral boards prepared. I as I walked in they stated 757 people were going through the boards. I tried to remain positive and just present my package. I was in and out of the interview quickly. I walked to the car and my wife asked how it went. I said, good but I’ll find out in two weeks.

Yesterday, I went to the post office to get my mail and there was the letter from the City of Denver. I was too nervous to open it. Finally I decided it was time, my rank was 14th out of 757. I couldn’t believe it. Fourteenth. WOW my total score on the board was 100.0000%. I ACED IT!!!!!! I immediately called my wife at work with the good news. She cried. Thanks Bob. — Jason

Captain Bob-

I was not getting the results that I had hoped for, but as you advised us all, we need to be the energizer bunny, and that is what I became.  To Seattle, Oakland, Oregon, you name it, I was on a plane somewhere to take a test. I practiced everyday for months and months.  I did the private coaching with your son, married myself to the tape recorder and video camera.

I went down the week before to the interview site and knew exactly where it was at and exactly where I needed to park.  They called me in and it was amazing, I did an oral presentation and my personality came into the room and then when the interview questions came, I was able to hit them with nugget after nugget after nugget, etc.

This took a long time for me to actually get the opportunity to write you this letter but you can add me to your list of new badges!!  I just completed the 14 week academy for the Orange County Fire Authority and I cannot explain the feeling.  Last night, I got to walk up on a stage and be handed a badge by our Fire Chief and have my dad pin it on my chest. You want to talk about emotional moments in your life, I cried and my dad was pretty choked up also. I never thought in a million years that I would be there at that moment and I will never forget that moment for the rest of my life.

I now believe that the oral interview is the only way to obtain this awesome career.  Considering I only passed the written test by 3 points, this is now a proven fact to me.  Those of you out there that keep going to academy after academy and certification after certification, please take the time to put your efforts into practicing your interview so you too can share the awesome feeling of getting that badge and asking yourself the question, who will pin the badge on me?  Thank you again Captain Bob, without your "nugget" concept, I would have never gotten that badge and a career where the satisfaction is like no other!!

Steve, Firefighter- Orange County Fire Authority

Captain Rob: I struggled trying to pass an oral board high enough to get a badge.  I had no idea with the help of your program and a coaching session with Rob that I could reach my ultimate goal.  Well, rack up another badge for a new firefighter for LA COUNTY!  Dreams can come
true.  Bill

Here’s a double:

Dear Captain Bob-

My friend Mike and I would like to let you know how much we appreciate the information your program provided us throughout our pursuit for a badge. Both of us have been in the chase for one for over 3 years. Both of us received the call of our dreams tonight! We were offered a job by Salt Lake County Fire Department. The orientation is on the 20th and recruit camp is scheduled to start on the 2nd. Thanks again for all of the help your tapes and website provided us, both were a vital tool in obtaining the job of our dreams! We'll keep you posted on our progress!

Sincerely, Mike and Nick

And no I didn’t encourage, pay, or know this or the above testimonies were coming in. This happy new firefighter wrote this:

I had a lot of odds against me because I am a type 1 Insulin dependent Diabetic.

Captain Bob, I just wanted to drop you a line and say thanks for all your help.  About a year ago I bought your video and audio program.  The information was incredible.  Although I never fully understood until I saw the results of my interviews.

I had been testing for about 3 years with no results.  I had never received a passing score in the oral interview.  I felt like I had very good credentials and could not understand why I was not getting hired.  I had my BA from Cal-Berkeley, I spoke Spanish, I had my FFI and I was a paramedic!

After using your program I have received 6 chiefs interview.  3 of which I received job offers and the other 3 lists were canceled due to budget restraints.

I have accepted a job offer with Los Angeles City Fire Dept. (LAFD).  This is truly a dream come true.  Once again I want to say thank you for your enlightenment.

 Sincerely, Patrick Leonard

Capt. Bob,

Almost 2 years ago at this time I began pursuing a position with the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
Through friends in the department, as well as other firefighters in the area, I became aware of your
audio/video oral board preparation guide.  For the past 8 years my goal has been to work for this
department, and I knew if I wanted to give myself a substantial chance I'd have to prepare early and set myself apart from other candidates.  I used your entry-level audio/video program, along with a tape
recorder, and rehearsed my personalized script over and over until it became second nature to me.  The
first oral board I ever took I placed in Band B.  The following year I refined my script and practiced even more and was fortunate enough to place in Band A this
past May.

Two weeks ago I received a call stating a conditional offer of employment upon
successful completion of a polygraph exam, drug test, and physical exam.  Just yesterday I received a call from the department extending their offer of employment for the upcoming fire academy which begins in March.

When I got the call, I immediately drove over to my mothers work.  When I walked in she saw the smile on my face and knew why I was there.  My mother and the other women in the office started crying.

The oral boards have been the most challenging portion of this hiring process.  I can
undoubtedly say that without your program, along with your personal advice throughout the past two years, I would not be where I am today.

In less than 6 weeks I begin a new aspect in my life.  One I've been patiently waiting, hoping, and
dreaming of for many years now.  No amount of thanks could be expressed to my family, friends, and your help throughout this process.  It hasn't sunk in yet, and like you said, it may never sink in.

Is Age a Factor in Getting Hired?

Indiscribable Thanks Captian Bob:

I have arrived at the moment that before was only realized in my dreams. That was the day I received “the call” informing me that I had been chosen as one of the fourteen candidates to start the academy for Las Vegas Fire and Rescue!

I am very fit. I work out 5 days a week and have for years. I have my EMT-Intermediate Certification and a burning desire to become a firefighter since I was 10 years old. Some times life seems to get in the way of our dreams and plans, but I have learned only if you let it! Three years ago I decided to go for my dream career, I had done everything I knew I could do to physically be ready for this demanding job, but I was oblivious to the testing and hiring process. That is when I came across your web site, Captain Bob your materials were invaluable in helping me obtain my badge. I followed your advise to the letter throughout the process from testing to oral interviews and the psych. Your insight is right on the mark!

Rob helped me with private coaching, and low and behold I am poised to start my dream career! Thank you is not enough to express my heart felt gratitude for your help in getting me to this place in life. I look forward to meeting you in person some day to say “thanks”.  Ted R. Las Vegas Nevada

Ted was number 3 on the list, an EMT and FORTY-SEVEN YEARS OLD!  He also scored higher than his Son on the same list and got the job.  Bravo!

CAN YOU HELP ME!!!!!

I have been testing for 10 years and have taken approximately 73 tests. I want to figure out what the heck I'm doing wrong, so I can get the badge! Firefighting is my passion and my dream career. I've come to far to let this go. I've read your web sight and I believe this system can work for me.

I have exactly two weeks till my next oral board....

Reply: This was certainly a challenge. Eric had credentials and was not a dummy. Like many candidates, he was just stuck in the process. Since money was tight for Eric, Rob and I discussed this situation and felt if we offered our Gold Package Program and a private coaching session at no cost to Eric it would put our program to the full test.  We had two weeks until his next oral.

The Gold Package was sent next day FEDEX.  Rob did the coaching session the following week.  Eric had his oral board the following week.  After several weeks this department hired 8 candidates.  Eric was one of the 8!  After taking 73 tests for ten years, he was able to turn it around in two weeks to gain a badge.

This from Eric:

Captain Bob and Captain Rob,

First off I would like to say THANK YOU!!!!!!

The two of you have really helped me find the tools that I needed to ACE the Oral board and get the best career in the world and TO GET THAT BADGE!!!!!

I have been testing sense 1993 and in that time I took a total of 73 tests. While I was testing I got really close a couple times however, I would fall short from receiving the badge.

Something was holding me back from getting the badge and I had no idea what I was doing wrong. I was striking out in the oral boards, and I felt demoralized hearing about someone who just got their badge after taking only two or three tests. “What on earth were they doing to get the badge“??????? As you would say Captain Bob and Captain Rob, “Presentation, preparation, patients and practice“.

After reading the material, listening to the CD’s and watching the DVD, I started to understand I needed to change my ways of thinking. I grew extremely excited to learn your material and I could see where I messed up on past oral boards. I studied your material, practiced and tapped into the coaching session. NOW I CAN SEE HOW TO DO IT THE RIGHT WAY! The coaching was extremely helpful and gave me the confidences for my up coming oral boards. I thought I was seeing the process in 180 degrees. The program and coaching enabled me to view the oral in all 360 degrees.  What an advantage.

The next oral board I had went incredibly well and, a few weeks after the board I received the best phone call. “We would like to hire you on to our Fire Department”, (MY ANSWER- YES, YES, YES, AND YES) (STATED WITH THE UP MOST EXCITEMENT). I get emotional every time I think about that phone call. I won‘t ever forget that moment! This is the moment in my life that I have been waiting for. It’s finally here (THANK YOU GOD)!!! My recruit class starts in early March and I’m looking forward to starting what I love doing, FIRE FIGHTING!

Captain Bob and Captain Rob Thank you for helping me make my dreams come true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely, Eric S.

Reply: After taking 73 tests over ten years, Eric was able to turn it around in two weeks to gain a badge.  Eric said his dad is more excited than he is (if that’s possible) and wants to drive him to his first day at the academy like taking him to his first day at  kindergarten.  Ha.
